Ariel Rodrigo Guerrero Hernández was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1983. Independent, self-taught artist. His visual art, music and poetry expresses a colorful and optimistic world vision, with a particular taste for the human figure, especially female.
He begins in his childhood drawing comics, influenced by the cartoons he watched in television. Already in high school he starts drawing portraits in graphite pencil and sanguine. In that time he also learns music, playing the clarinet in the orchestra of his school, the Instituto Nacional, and learning harmony and composition. He also learns sciences, acquiring an integral formation and diverse interests. He enters the University of Chile in 2001, obtains his degree as a pharmacist in 2008 and immediately enters the Chemistry Ph.D. program at the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. It is during these studies that the interest in drawing re-emerges with strength, making portraits in graphite, charcoal, pastel and colour pencils, as well as developing an artistic language of his own. In late 2013 he successfully defends his doctoral thesis and immediately he returns to Chile, where in 2014 he begins painting in oils, and in watercolour in 2019. In 2018 Ariel begins his activity as a professional artist, entering the Dibujo en la Aldea drawing workshop by artist Ernesto Díaz, and in December 2021 Ariel becomes a member of the Association of Visual Artists of La Reina (Asociación de Artistas Plásticos de La Reina, AAPLaR). Since 2018 he has had three solo shows and participated in multiple collective shows.
Ariel does his art in parallel to his work as a licensed pharmacist.
